Subject: GO GIRL FESTIVAL IN MARIETTA SQUARE on Saturday, May 10th. from 11am to 3pm

I am a cochair for the Marietta Go Girl Festival which is put on by the Ruth Mitchell Dance Theatre. The Ruth Michell Dance Theatre is a nonprofit organization. My daughter has danced there for 4 years, and it is a great way for girls to gain confidence in themselves and to also stay focused on their dreams.

Ruth Mitchell's main fund raiser is The Marietta Go Girl Festival. Jody Kuhn and I are chairing it and we are determined to make this the best year yet. We have several activities planned, such as dance performances, karate performances, a live dj, a cake walk, jump rope, hula hoop, raffles, etc., but we are missing a clown. We just don't think our festival would be complete without a clown. We are looking for a clown to stroll around and do the balloon art, tattoos, face painting, joke around and just have fun with the girls and boys at the festival.

Following Lauren’s Run, all participants are invited to stay for the CURE Childhood Cancer Annual Picnic, featuring games and fun provided by Amusement Masters and plenty of great food by Folks Southern Kitchen. Picnic hours are 10:30am-1:30pm.

May 17th and 18th

The City of Ball Ground, Georgia, is hosting their annual Heritage Days in the city on May 17th and 18th. Our festivities will start at 10 am with a big parade through downtown. Our special grand marshal this year is Monika Kelly Andrew, daughter of world famous circus clown, Emmett Kelly, Sr. Emmett appeared with the Shrine Circus, the Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Circus, on television and major motion pictures.

Monika is now a resident of Ball Ground and we would like to honor her and Emmett by all clowns and clown units to be a part of the parade this year. Can you help us get the word out and let all of your clown friends know about this special invitation? If you have clown friends who are interested in participating, please have them call me at (770) 735-4263 or they can email me at tmcavender@cherokeega.com. Monika will also be available that weekend signing autographs and selling lithographs and posters of her dad.

Update on the Ball Ground Spring Festival on May 17th in Downtown Ball Ground, Georgia

Our grand marshall for this year’s parade is Monika Kelly, daughter of Emmett Kelly, Sr. Emmett is probably the world’s most famous clown, plus, he was a Shriner, too.

We have invited clowns from all over the southeast to participate in our parade to honor Emmett. The parade will be held on May 17th at 10am, with parade lineup to start at 9 am.

WE HAVE BEEN NOTIFED THAT EMMETT’S WIFE, EVIE, WILL ALSO BE IN ATTENDANCE!

Monika will have several different posters and lithographs of her dad for sale and they will be in a booth on both days of the festival (May 17th & 18th) to sign autographs.

Also, we will be doing a “Movie Under the Stars” on the 17th at dusk and will be showing “The Greatest Show on Earth” starring Charlton Heston, Jimmy Stewart and Emmett. Monika will also be hosting this event for us, too. The admission is free to the general public…….
