Here is a basic list of clown makeup for getting started in clowning and Peachtree Clown makeup workshops. The prices shown here are approximate and subject to change. An initial supply of makeup and application supplies will probably cost around $40-60, but should last quite a while.

Clown Makeup may be purchased online through clown vendors such as Clown Antics or Mooseburger. You may also find makeup supplies through Amazon.

Notes on the supplies above:

  • Choose a CreamBlend stick that matches your natural skin tone. Caucasian clowns may choose a color 1-2 shades darker than their natural skin color. Clowns of color can usually skip the CreamBlend stick.
  • You may substitute the Eye Liner Pencil with a drugstore black lining pencil.
  • Try and get a larger supply of ColorSet Powder than is listed here. The size listed here won’t last long.
  • A powder puff around 4″ will be a good size and easier to work with than a larger or smaller one.
  • If you are not comfortable applying makeup or new to applying makeup, you may wish to swap out the Clown Makeup Palette for Ben Nye MagiColor Creme Pencils in red, blue, and black. They cost more, but can be easier to work with.
  • Purchase “Clown White” from Mehron (or Ben Nye) to start. There are other types of cream white makeup, however, we’ve seen students have mixed results with other products.
